Sports Physical Therapy is a specialized area of physical therapy that deals with acute, chronic, and repetitive injuries in professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes. It includes a thorough evaluation, treatment, transition back to sport, prevention, and a performance enhancement program.
At Stride Physical Therapy we have special interest in working with athletes of all ages, levels, and abilities. Our therapists are current or former athletes. We know what it’s like to have an injury or recovery process keep us from giving our all. We are committed to getting you back to your best. Our staff will work closely with your physician in designing and implementing a plan of care that protects the surgical improvements made while advancing you toward your desired functional goals. Your input and feedback are vital in returning you to your preinjury level of function. We view the rehab process as a collaborative effort. Together we will get you back to the game you love!
See the post-surgical page Post-Surgical Rehab if you are recovering from surgery after a sports injury.
Sports Performance Programs
After thorough evaluation of an athlete’s strength, neuromuscular coordination, flexibility, and cardiorespiratory fitness, our sports therapists will develop a sport performance training plan to help the athlete achieve their performance goals. Each program is tailored to specific sporting demands and provided to the athlete as a training regime (plan of action). If desired, the sports therapist may even assist in coaching and guiding the athlete through a performance program on a several times/week basis, depending on the athlete’s goals and needs.
